About
Figure Out Science grew out of three convictions: that understanding doesn’t start with a definition but with a well-posed question; that one well-placed line can explain more than a page of text; and that modern science — physics first — is far too interesting to be left to textbooks. That’s why every figure is drawn so you can touch it: drag it, pause it, take it apart — until something quietly clicks.
How we work
Every article is built on sources — with DOIs wherever possible — and carries the date it was last verified. When we simplify (and in physics you always simplify), we say so plainly. Harder topics go through expert review before they are published.
People and machines
This magazine is a human–AI collaboration. The AI speeds up the drawing and the writing; the human asks the questions, checks the facts, and answers for every sentence you read here.
How it’s funded
There are no ads here and there never will be. The magazine is funded by its readers — through monthly support or a one-off “coffee”. That way the only job of every page is to explain something, not to keep you here as long as possible.
